Christina’s Baked French Toast

One of the little things you learn in the Training is how to be resourceful. When you can't finish both slices of bread from your sack lunch sandwich, save a slice for later to make something like this on Monday morning! I had to be careful which slices of bread I saved...that peppered turkey meat really stuck to the bread making strangely savory french toast. Ew.
5 slices bread (thank you, sack lunch!), cut into 2” squares
1 egg
¾ milk
¼ tsp vanilla
2 tsp sugar

1 T raisins
finely chopped nuts of choice
1 T brown sugar
1 T butter, melted
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Layer the bread on the bottom of a small baking dish. Mix the egg, milk, sugar and vanilla and pour on top. Sprinkle the raisins and nuts and brown sugar on top, then drizzle the butter evenly on the top. Bake 20-30 minutes.
